The Bruno Frey Gallery has been open since June 1995, in Arnay Le Duc in Burgundy, it is located 45 km from Dijon, 30 km from Beaune, 30 km from Saulieu, 30 km from Autun on the old Nationale 6 Paris Lyon. It attracts collectors from all over Europe and presents exhibitions associating ancient pieces from Africa and Oceania (masks, sculptures...) and contemporary artworks (sculptures, photographs, drawings, paintings...).
Specialized in the arts of Africa and Oceania, Bruno Frey is an expert at the Compagnie d’expertise en Antiquités et Objets d’Art (CEA), a member of the CEDEA since 2006.

We Mask
Hard and heavy wood, remains of pigments, metal. H: 32cm
Old mask of very good quality.
Very beautiful brown-black patina of glazed use on a hard wood. The oval-shaped face is built around a broad platyrhinian nose surrounded by two eyes with swollen eyelids. The wide, half-open mouth shows metal teeth. Under the visor headdress, adorned with two pointed ears, are four
openings rectangular for vision.

Kota "emboli" mask
semi-hard wood, old patina, black
(charcoal powder) red (tukula powder) and white (white clay powder, kaolin) pigments.
Height: 83cm.
Helm mask with two opposite faces, the details of which are painted by quarter, in red ochre, black and white.
The emboli is a spirit of the forest which manifests itself at the time of the "satsi" initiation of adolescents, among the Kota, the Mahongwe and the Shamaye of the Makokou and Mékambo region (eastern Gabon).
